1892, Pierre Louÿs, alors jeune poète, entreprend de collectionner des photographies érotiques et pornographiques. Méticuleux, il juge indispensable de mettre en fiches tout ce qui concerne la sexualité et il se consacre à la partie de l'anatomie féminine qui le fascine le plus. Louÿs choisit un album à la reliure assez ordinaire. De sa plume il calligraphie les descriptions des poses, ordonne, découpe, colle et n'oublie pas de signer son oeuvre. Parallèlement, à partir de 1906, il complète cette collection de photos par des écrits rassemblés sous le titre Manuel de Gomorrhe. As an actor Dirk Bogarde was a Rank contract artist and matinee idol who became a giant of the intellectual cinema, working on films such as Death in Venice, The Servant and Providence. Fiercely protective of his privacy, and that of his partner of 40 years, he left England in the 1960s to live abroad, where he carved a second career for himself as a bestselling author. Although Bogarde destroyed many of his papers, John Coldstream has had unique access to his personal archives and to friends and family who knew him well. As have OECD countries, Colombia has recognised that the communications sector, and in particular high-speed Internet access provided by fixed and mobile broadband, represents a key infrastructure for improving productivity and economic growth and in enhancing the welfare of its citizens. This report reviews policies and regulations in the telecommunication service sector in Colombia. It puts forward recommendations aimed at furthering regulatory reform and stimulating market competition and investment in the sector as a building block for the future development of the Colombian economy. It aims to help achieve one of the government's goals, which is to develop a knowledge-intensive society.
Though the number of works on cultural diplomacy is in general quite substantial, very few concern the production and distribution of films. The cinemas established by French cultural institutions are likewise virtually absent from many studies on the history of cinema, and notably from those on its theaters. By analyzing the distribution systems of French and world cinema which promote local production, and their audiences, all the analyses presented in the book establish an initial assessment on the life of cinemas belonging to the Instituts français and the Alliances françaises. First spaces of French culture's unilateral influence, then windows onto "cultural diversity," the history of these theaters is certainly complex. We preferred to approach it and render it with all of its contradictions.
